At long last, all of the delayed panels have arrived, broken up, and mailed. The last of the December 5th boards went out on January 3rd (since January 2nd was a US Postal holiday), and the last of the December 12th boards went out on January 12th.

The main lesson I learned from this is that I need to post more frequent status updates when there are problems with a panel. From now on, if a panel will be delayed more than 4 days, I’ll post something here, and every two days after that until it’s resolved.

The other lesson I learned was that as a group, you guys are awesome and patient.. I’m really lucky to have the support of a fantastic community.

I’d like to apologize for the disaster that has been the December 5th and 12th panels. It’s been exacerbated by vacation schedules, confusion over the actual state of the packages between me and the fab, and some of the delay is definitely my fault.

In total, I have 6 panels that were affected by this. It was my biggest order ever, had a ton of new people on it, for whom this will be there first experience. Totally terrible.

On the positive side, the panels have been located. They were completely lost for over a week. UPS wasn’t able to locate them and none of the (many!) tracking numbers I had for them worked.

The bad news is, they’re en route back to the fab. They should be there by Friday, and then express overnighted to me for a Saturday delivery. If they arrive early enough on Saturday, I should have them in the mail the same day. If not, it’ll be Monday.

Once again, I’m embarrassed and appalled by this order, and if the boards won’t get to you in time for your project, or for whatever reason you no longer need them, please contact me for a full refund.

-Laen

I learned from the fab today that due to computer troubles requiring a restore from backups, they accidentally shipped the December 5th panels to my old address. By the time we realized it, the panels were already on their way back to the fab. :/ They’ll turn around and re-ship them overnight as soon as they get them, but that puts them arriving back with me by December 20th at the earliest.

Unfortunately, this also affects the December 12th panels. I had bumped the turn time from 5 business days to 4 business days in hopes of getting them out sooner since there were some urgent boards on there. I don’t expect to have those back until December 23rd.

I know that this is a big disappointment to some of you that had PCBs that were going to control Christmas lights, or were going into presents. If these boards will be coming back too late for you to use, please let me know and I’ll give you a full refund.

My apologies for the delays. :(

On a related note, I’m going to be away for a couple of weeks for the Thanksgiving holiday, and that means I’m not going to be able to do a PCB order for the next three weeks. On December 5th I’ll be doing both 2 and 4 layer panels, though.

I’m still recovering from the move, so both orders and shipments are a bit slow at the moment.

I’ve gotten a report of the post office requesting additional postage on a delivery. If your package comes with postage due, I apologize. Please let me know. I believe I’m paying the correct amount.

Also, I’m experimenting with packaging changes. Currently the most time consuming part of the de-paneling process is plastic-wrapping the boards. Starting with the last order, I didn’t plastic-wrap any of the “single set of boards” orders. Please let me know if you experience issues due to this.
